Arturo's opened its doors in Toledo, Ohio in 1988 but Art's passion for food began much earlier. Growing up as a kid in Italy, Art used to watch is mother and aunt cook great Italian cuisine every day.
Art's father moved the family from Italy in 1973, seeking a better live and new opportunities that Italy couldn't offer at the time. When Art was 16, he began to work at a local pizza place in Toledo and became engrossed in Italian food preparation. Because of his background, quality food has always been a paramount to quantity when Art cooks.
He always uses the best ingredients because he believes that only by using the best can you bring the best flavors out of a dish to create a great food experience. With his mother and aunt to thank, Art brought those authentic dishes to the table when he first opened his pizzeria and restaurant.
When asked what has made the difference for him in staying true to his roots and keeping his doors open for 20 plus years, Art said, “We've seen pizzerias come and go, but we're still here because we always serve authentic Italian cuisine. It keeps its authentic seasoning and flavor. That and we offer quality food at an affordable price.”
Arturo's Pizza Kitchen as remained committed to providing quality meals to the Toledo area, with dishes like his mother's lasagna, traditional sauces crushed from tomatoes (just like Italian food), and pasta dishes like alla putanesca, and alla matriciana. Come to Arturo's for authentic Italian food, and you may just leave with some authentic ingredients to make the dishes at home. At Arturo's you are our special guest, and we always treat our guests like family.
